The process for joining the Imperial 501st Legion is as follows:

STEP ONE: Make sure you are qualified
- Be 18 years old or older
- Own a professional quality Imperial (or sympathizer) Star Wars costume.

STEP TWO: Fill out the 501st Legion Application Form

With the exception of the information you deem 'public' which will be posted on your "member" page, all information submitted will be kept confidential and will be used for official 501st Legion registration purposes only.

You will need to determine what ID number you want. Your ID number can be anything from 0000-9999. The prefix will depend on your costume. You can check the database ( http://www.501st.com/members/searchform.cfm ) to see if your choices are already in use.

STEP THREE: Take photographs of you in your costume
Upon submission of your application, the 501st Legion Membership Team will be made aware of your request to join. Our Garrison Membership Liaison (GML) will contact you to verify your qualifications and will collect your pictures and send them in to the Legion for posting.

A minimum of 2 pictures are required: one with your helmet on and one with your helmet off. You can use as many as 3 photographs. Many choose an action shot, a full-body shot, and a helmet off head shot. The photographs should be against a plain, contrasting background for easy editing purposes.

STEP FOUR : Wait for confirmation of your acceptance
Once your application is approved you will receive an email confirmation to that effect, at which time you will get your official TK ID number.

This process usually takes one to two weeks.

If for some reason your application is denied, you will be notified and your application information deleted from the Legion database.
